The menu isn't quite straight-forward, but I've managed. It's not that bad, and I think it's similar to most other brands. I do agree that Clarion's menu system is a bit different, but then again I've only had one Clarion. My Alpine has been great! Although one time, the motorized faceplate got stuck in the open position, and during that time, the buttons were non-functional. I got frustrated and walked away. My neighbor, allegedly got frustrated too, and punched it. He "popped" it back into place and it works now. Go figure. Other than that, I love this thing. I wouldn't go with any other brand ... unless of course, it was Eclipse or Nakamichi. I just recently did a cheesy install of an amp and subs, and it sounds absolutely great. I can't stress how great my Alpine is. Oh yeah, did I mention, it doesn't skip at all? Not even over really really bad railroad tracks.
